The Opportunity:

As Assistant Headteacher - Achievement, you will lead the strategic development and operational implementation of achievement across the academy. Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the strategic development and operational implementation of achievement across the academy.
  • Ensure strong and sustained academic outcomes at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.
  • Promote high expectations and challenge for all learners.
  • Develop effective assessment systems that inform teaching and accelerate progress.
  • Close gaps between pupil groups through high-quality teaching and targeted support.
  • Establish clear accountability structures that empower middle leaders.
  • Implement raising standards strategies that are precise, coherent, and impactful.
  • Use data intelligently to drive improvement and measure impact.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A strong track record of improving attainment and progress.
  • Experience in leading raising standards strategies at whole-school or faculty level.
  • Ability to translate curriculum intent into consistent classroom impact.
  • Strong data literacy and the ability to use data to drive improvement.
  • High expectations for all learners, particularly disadvantaged and SEND pupils.
  • Experience in building strong relationships with middle leaders and supporting their development.

Preferred

  • NPQSL or equivalent qualifications.
  • Experience in a values-driven, community-centred educational setting.
