The Opportunity:

As a Casual Cover Supervisor, you will provide essential support to the school during teacher absences, ensuring a smooth and safe learning experience for students. This role is ideal for someone who values flexibility and wants to make a positive impact in a welcoming school community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise classes in the absence of teaching staff, maintaining a safe and productive learning environment.
  • Support students during school visits and trips, ensuring their wellbeing and engagement.
  • Assist with administrative tasks when required, contributing to the smooth running of the school.
  • Implement and uphold the school’s policies, including Equal Opportunities and Health and Safety.
  • Work collaboratively with staff and students to support the school’s ethos and values.
  • Provide a positive and encouraging presence that reinforces the school’s commitment to student welfare.
  • Be available to cover on an as-needed basis, offering flexibility in working days and hours.
  • Maintain clear communication with teaching staff and senior leadership when required.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience working with young people in an educational setting.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Ability to implement school policies and procedures effectively.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Flexibility to work on an ad-hoc basis, including during term time.

Preferred

  • Previous experience in a supervisory or teaching support role.
  • Experience with school visits or extracurricular activities.
  • Knowledge of Equal Opportunities and Health and Safety policies.
  • Experience working in a school environment with a focus on student wellbeing.
