The Opportunity:

Join a school's senior leadership team as an Assistant Headteacher to help shape its future and drive excellence in teaching, learning, and curriculum development. This role offers a unique chance to influence strategic direction and lead by example in a values-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop the curriculum, with a focus on English or Mathematics.
  • Drive improvements in teaching, learning, and pupil outcomes.
  • Support and develop middle leaders and staff through professional development.
  • Contribute to whole-school leadership, including safeguarding, school improvement, and strategic planning.
  • Promote a positive, inclusive school culture with high expectations.
  • Act as a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead.
  • Work closely with the Headteacher and senior leadership team to ensure effective school leadership.
  • Engage with parents, governors, and the wider community to shape the school’s future.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in school leadership and improvement.
  • Strong subject leadership experience in English or Mathematics.
  • Commitment to the Christian ethos and values of the school.
  • Excellent classroom practice and ability to inspire others.
  • Experience in safeguarding and a willingness to take on this responsibility.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with staff, governors, and parents.

Preferred

  • Experience in curriculum development and strategic planning.
  • Background in leading whole-school improvement initiatives.
  • Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language or inclusive, trauma-informed approaches to behaviour and wellbeing.
  • Experience in working within a Multi Academy Trust.
