As the Head of Business Studies and Economics, you will lead a dynamic department and inspire a team of teachers. This role offers the chance to shape the curriculum, drive improvement, and make a meaningful impact on student learning and development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a team of teachers, providing guidance and support to enhance teaching and learning.
- Deliver high-quality instruction in Business Studies and Economics at Key Stages 4 and 5.
- Develop and implement strategies for continuous improvement in the department.
- Foster a positive and inclusive school culture that aligns with the school's ethos and values.
- Collaborate with colleagues across the school to support student welfare and development.
- Promote the school's vision and values through effective leadership and communication.
- Engage with the wider school community and contribute to general school life as a Middle Leader.
- Support and participate in the Chaplaincy team's initiatives where appropriate.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience in teaching Business Studies and Economics at Key Stages 4 and 5.
- Demonstrated leadership experience within an educational setting.
- Strong interpersonal and presentational skills.
- Commitment to continuous improvement and professional development.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage a team.
Preferred
- Experience in a senior leadership role within a school or college.
- Familiarity with Catholic education and its values.
- Experience in curriculum development and innovation.
- Ability to integrate spiritual and moral development into teaching and learning.
