The Opportunity:

As an Assistant Headteacher – Learning and Teaching, you will lead and inspire a dedicated team of educators, driving excellence in teaching, learning, and professional development across all phases. This is a pivotal role in a school committed to continuous growth and achieving the highest standards for every student.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Model outstanding classroom practice and support colleagues in delivering consistently high-quality teaching across both Primary and Secondary.
  • Lead the monitoring and evaluation of teaching and learning, ensuring consistency and addressing areas for improvement quickly.
  • Oversee the coaching programme and professional development systems, ensuring impact across the school.
  • Play a key role in self-evaluation and school improvement planning using a wide range of evidence to inform decisions.
  • Strengthen a culture of collaboration, professional dialogue and research-informed professional development.
  • Support the design and evaluation of effective performance management systems for all staff.
  • Lead strategic teaching initiatives across the school.
  • Build strong relationships with colleagues, students and parents through excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • UK-qualified teacher (BEd, PGCE or PGDE) with a proven track record of impact in leading teaching and learning.
  • Strong leadership skills and a commitment to high standards.
  • Experience in school leadership and a deep understanding of effective teaching practices.

Preferred

  • Experience with professional development and coaching programmes.
  • Demonstrated ability to inspire both staff and students.
  • Familiarity with British curriculum standards and assessment systems.
