The Opportunity:

As an Assistant House Parent, you will provide essential pastoral care and support to students in a residential setting. This role is ideal for someone passionate about creating a safe, supportive, and inspiring environment for young people.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support and deputise for the House Parent in delivering high-quality pastoral care
  • Implement and enforce the school's boarding policies and procedures
  • Foster a structured, secure, and enabling community for students
  • Contribute to the planning and delivery of trips and activities for boarders
  • Provide care and support to students outside of the school day
  • Assist with medical cover and student wellbeing
  • Support administrative tasks and communication with parents and staff
  • Uphold safeguarding policies and ensure the welfare of students at all times

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience in a 16+ coeducational boarding environment or a residential role involving youth welfare
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents
  • Proactive approach with the ability to seek support when needed
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing working patterns and high-pressure situations
  • Good administration and IT skills
  • Commitment to the ethos and values of a boarding institution

Preferred

  • Experience in safeguarding and child protection
  • Background in education or pastoral care
  • Knowledge of dance or performing arts
