The Opportunity:

As the Head of Primary School, you will lead a dynamic and inclusive learning community, delivering high-quality education that inspires young minds. This role is central to shaping the academic and personal development of students aged 3–11, with a focus on fostering a supportive and innovative learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the planning and delivery of a vibrant curriculum based on the English National Curriculum, tailored for an international primary context.
  • Monitor student progress across all primary key stages (EYFS, KS1 & KS2), ensuring academic excellence and supporting differentiated learning.
  • Lead and coordinate primary assemblies, "House" activities, and school events that strengthen the school community.
  • Ensure the wellbeing and social-emotional development of all primary students, maintaining a safe and inclusive environment.
  • Lead and mentor the primary teaching team and support staff, collaborating closely with the Senior Leadership Team.
  • Promote a culture of academic and holistic development, aligned with the school's vision and values.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A recognised teaching qualification (PGCE or equivalent) and a relevant academic degree in Education or a related field.
  • Proven experience in a leadership or middle-management role within a primary setting.
  • Deep knowledge of the English National Curriculum and experience across Early Years (EYFS), KS1, and KS2.
  • A strong track record of driving academic excellence and supporting holistic student development.
  • Experience in pastoral care and a passion for fostering a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organisational skills with the ability to inspire both staff and students.
  • A clear and unwavering commitment to safeguarding and student welfare.
  • Fluency in English is essential.

Preferred

  • A working knowledge of French, given the school’s immersive French setting in Switzerland.
  • Swiss citizenship, EU/EFTA passport holder, or a valid Swiss work permit.
