The Opportunity:

We are seeking a dynamic and inspiring Latin Teacher to join a vibrant department that values creativity, collaboration, and academic excellence. The role involves teaching Latin up to Year 13 and contributing to a rich extra-curricular program that fosters a love for the language.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality Latin lessons to students from Key Stage 3 to Year 13
  • Develop engaging and innovative teaching materials that promote student enjoyment and academic success
  • Support students in achieving excellent results in Latin at GCSE and A Level
  • Contribute to the planning and delivery of extra-curricular Latin activities
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across the department and school
  • Participate in the school’s continuous professional development programs
  • Monitor and assess student progress to ensure consistent improvement
  • Assist with pastoral care and support for students where needed

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with a relevant degree in Classics or a related subject
  • Proven experience in teaching Latin at secondary level
  • Strong subject knowledge and a passion for the Latin language
  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment

Preferred

  • Experience in teaching within a bilingual or international school setting
  • Familiarity with the International Baccalaureate (IB) or French International Baccalaureate (BFI) curricula
  • Experience in developing and leading extra-curricular Latin programs
  • Fluency in French or another modern language
