The Opportunity:

As an Assistant Maths Subject Leader, you will play a key role in supporting the Head of Maths to evaluate and enhance teaching and learning in Maths. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a school that prioritises student success, professional excellence, and a nurturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Head of Maths in evaluating and improving the effectiveness of Maths teaching and learning.
  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance student achievement and progression in Maths.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to create a cohesive and holistic approach to Maths education.
  • Monitor and assess the impact of interventions and support for students needing additional help.
  • Contribute to the development of departmental policies and practices.
  • Work closely with the pastoral team to ensure a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Promote the school’s values and mission through professional behaviours and leadership.
  • Participate in continuous professional development and share best practices with the teaching team.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in Maths education.
  • Strong knowledge of Maths curriculum and assessment strategies.
  • Experience working within a team to improve teaching and learning outcomes.
  • Commitment to student achievement and inclusive education.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.

Preferred

  • Experience in a leadership or mentoring role within a school setting.
  • Familiarity with data analysis and its application in teaching and learning.
  • Experience with curriculum development and innovation in Maths.
  • Knowledge of the Co-op values and ways of being.
