The Opportunity:

As Assistant Headteacher - Personal Development and Key Stage 3, you will provide strategic leadership in personal development and academic achievement for Key Stage 3 pupils. This role is pivotal in ensuring students receive a strong academic foundation and meaningful personal development support, enabling them to thrive and succeed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic leadership for the school’s personal development provision.
  • Oversee and monitor standards of achievement, progress, and engagement across Key Stage 3.
  • Ensure all pupils, particularly those with specific barriers to learning, receive the support they need to succeed.
  • Work closely with teachers and support staff to develop and implement effective teaching and learning strategies.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive school culture that promotes student well-being and academic success.
  • Collaborate with senior leaders to drive continuous improvement in teaching and learning.
  • Monitor and evaluate the impact of personal development initiatives on student outcomes.
  • Support the professional development of staff through mentoring, training, and reflective practice.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven leadership experience in an educational setting.
  • Experience in managing and developing Key Stage 3 curriculum and teaching strategies.
  • Strong understanding of personal development and pastoral care in schools.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Preferred

  • Experience in a senior leadership role within a school.
  • Experience with leading improvement initiatives and driving academic success.
  • Experience with inclusive education and supporting vulnerable students.
  • Familiarity with Ofsted standards and school improvement processes.
