The Opportunity:

As a School Business Manager, you will play a key role in leading and managing all aspects of school business, including finance, HR, premises, ICT, and administration. This is an exciting opportunity to support a school that is committed to inspiring excellence and providing a high-quality education in a Catholic Christian context.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee all financial operations, ensuring budgetary compliance and efficient resource allocation.
  • Lead and support HR functions, including staff recruitment, training, and performance management.
  • Coordinate and manage the maintenance and use of school premises, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for students and staff.
  • Oversee ICT systems and ensure that technology supports teaching and learning across the school.
  • Provide administrative support to the headteacher, governors, and senior leaders, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
  • Develop and implement marketing strategies to enhance the school’s profile and support recruitment efforts.
  • Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements in line with the school’s mission and values.
  • Work closely with the senior leadership team to support the school’s strategic goals and improve overall performance.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in school business management or a related field.
  • Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to work collaboratively with senior leaders and governors.
  • Excellent organisational and administrative skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Experience in financial management, including budgeting and reporting.
  • Knowledge of HR practices and procedures, including staff development and performance management.
  • Familiarity with educational legislation and compliance requirements.

Preferred

  • Experience working in a Catholic school environment.
  • Strong understanding of school operations and the ability to support a Catholic ethos.
  • Experience in managing ICT systems and supporting digital learning.
  • Experience in marketing or public relations within an educational context.
  • Ability to contribute to the school’s mission of inspiring excellence and supporting student success.
