The Opportunity:

As Assistant Principal – Head of Sixth Form, you will lead and inspire a dynamic team to deliver a high-quality, aspirational Sixth Form experience. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the academic and pastoral provision for students, ensuring they are supported to achieve outstanding outcomes and progress beyond school.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic leadership and oversight of the Sixth Form, ensuring academic excellence and student wellbeing.
  • Manage the UCAS process, student recruitment, and post-18 progression pathways.
  • Monitor and improve student attendance, academic progress, and overall achievement.
  • Lead on the development of the curriculum and teaching standards within the Sixth Form.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Leadership Team to shape the vision and direction of post-16 provision.
  • Deliver pastoral care and support to students, ensuring a positive and inclusive environment.
  • Oversee the induction and ongoing development of Sixth Form students.
  • Support teaching within your specialist subject, with an advantage in Law.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven leadership experience in a senior educational role.
  • Strong track record in developing and managing a successful Sixth Form.
  • Excellent data analysis skills with a focus on raising standards and improving outcomes.
  • Demonstrated ability to inspire and lead both students and staff.
  • Commitment to student success, pastoral care, and high academic achievement.

Preferred

  • Experience in teaching Law or a related subject.
  • Background in curriculum development and strategic planning.
  • Experience with UCAS and post-18 progression processes.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a focus on collaboration.
