The Opportunity:

As a Behaviour Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students and promoting positive behaviour across the school. This is a dynamic and impactful position, ideal for someone passionate about student welfare and committed to making a difference in the lives of young people.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students in and out of the classroom, helping them make wise choices and stay on track
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with students, staff, and parents
  • Work flexibly across all age groups and manage challenging behaviours with confidence
  • Provide pastoral care and support to students in need, ensuring their wellbeing is prioritised
  • Collaborate with external agencies and support the school’s safeguarding requirements
  • Assist in the management of administrative tasks, including record-keeping and reporting
  • Promote a culture of respect, fairness, and inclusion within the school community
  • Participate in home visits and other duties as required to support student and family engagement

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience in pastoral support, behaviour management, or education settings
  • Understanding of safeguarding requirements and ability to handle confidential information
  • Strong communication skills with students, staff, parents, and external agencies
  • Ability to maintain a visible, positive presence and promote excellent behaviour
  • Commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion
  • Flexibility to support removal rooms, home visits, and other duties as required

Preferred

  • Experience with administration, including record-keeping, data entry, and reporting
  • Background in working with diverse student populations
  • Experience in a school or educational setting with a focus on pastoral care
