The Opportunity:
As a Behaviour Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students and promoting positive behaviour across the school. This is a dynamic and impactful position, ideal for someone passionate about student welfare and committed to making a difference in the lives of young people.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support students in and out of the classroom, helping them make wise choices and stay on track
- Build and maintain positive relationships with students, staff, and parents
- Work flexibly across all age groups and manage challenging behaviours with confidence
- Provide pastoral care and support to students in need, ensuring their wellbeing is prioritised
- Collaborate with external agencies and support the school’s safeguarding requirements
- Assist in the management of administrative tasks, including record-keeping and reporting
- Promote a culture of respect, fairness, and inclusion within the school community
- Participate in home visits and other duties as required to support student and family engagement
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Experience in pastoral support, behaviour management, or education settings
- Understanding of safeguarding requirements and ability to handle confidential information
- Strong communication skills with students, staff, parents, and external agencies
- Ability to maintain a visible, positive presence and promote excellent behaviour
- Commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion
- Flexibility to support removal rooms, home visits, and other duties as required
Preferred
- Experience with administration, including record-keeping, data entry, and reporting
- Background in working with diverse student populations
- Experience in a school or educational setting with a focus on pastoral care
