The Opportunity:

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Principal - Secondary School to provide strategic leadership in curriculum, assessment, and student wellbeing. This role offers the chance to shape the future of education in a dynamic and growing institution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic leadership for the design, implementation, and evaluation of the secondary curriculum, assessment, and reporting framework.
  • Ensure compliance with ADEK, MOE, and awarding body requirements across the secondary phase.
  • Lead the development of the school’s USP and academic vision, working closely with the Head of Secondary.
  • Support the Principal and Head of Secondary in shaping the direction of the school and setting high expectations.
  • Manage and line manage Heads of Department in line with school expectations.
  • Oversee internal and external moderation systems and lead reporting processes to parents.
  • Use data analytics tools to monitor student progress and inform instructional strategies.
  • Lead professional development initiatives on curriculum design and assessment.
  • Ensure alignment between primary and secondary curricula for a seamless student transition.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in education or a B.Sc degree with PGCE; Master's degree is desirable.
  • Minimum of 6 years’ experience, including 4 consecutive years of teaching performance exceeding standards.
  • At least 2 years’ experience in a middle leadership role.
  • Experience in leading school initiatives that improve standards and achievement.
  • Strong ability to work with data and use it to diagnose, intervene, and evaluate impact on learning.
  • Excellent leadership and judgment skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and organize effectively.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

Preferred

  • Experience in curriculum development and assessment strategy.
  • Experience with international benchmark testing and data tracking systems.
  • Familiarity with iSAMS or similar reporting platforms.
  • Experience in leading recruitment for teaching and middle leadership roles.
  • Experience in supporting inclusion, equity, and UAE national identity in the curriculum.
