The Opportunity:
We are seeking an Assistant Teacher to join our dedicated team and contribute to the academic, pastoral, and co-curricular life of a thriving institution. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a boarding school setting, with a focus on personal development and professional growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the day-to-day running of the Senior and Prep Schools across academic and pastoral duties.
- Assist in the delivery of teaching and learning activities, including the development and implementation of lesson plans.
- Contribute to the sports programme and lead or support extra-curricular activities.
- Provide boarding support, including overnight supervision and pastoral care for students.
- Work collaboratively with staff, students, and parents to ensure a positive and safe learning environment.
- Maintain a calm and confident presence during boarding house duties and student interactions.
- Engage in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching and leadership skills.
- Uphold the school’s values and commitment to safeguarding and child protection.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- A graduate with a relevant degree or equivalent qualification.
- Willingness to live in school accommodation and take on boarding duties.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to safeguarding and child protection.
- Confidence in working with young people in a pastoral and academic setting.
Preferred
- Experience in teaching, youth work, coaching, or pastoral care.
- Previous experience in a boarding school or similar environment.
- Demonstrated involvement in sports or extra-curricular activities.
- Experience with curriculum development or lesson planning.
- Proficiency in using educational technology and resources.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Full-time, fixed-term contract from September 2026 to July 2027.
