The Opportunity:

As a Sports Coach Undergraduate Placement, you will support the school’s elite sports programme and work with talented students in a variety of sports. This is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience in coaching and leadership within a dynamic and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support and coach EPP+ pupils in a range of sports, including hockey, football, cricket, and netball.
  • Deliver coaching sessions during the school’s Games programme and assist with fixture planning and organisation.
  • Act as a referee or umpire when required, ensuring fair play and adherence to rules.
  • Work closely with the school’s sports staff to develop and implement training programmes.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive sporting culture among students.
  • Attend and support BUCS fixtures on Wednesdays, if applicable.
  • Maintain a high level of engagement and communication with students, parents, and staff.
  • Contribute to the overall success of the school’s sports programme and student development.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Currently enrolled as an undergraduate student.
  • Demonstrated ability to coach or play at least one of the core sports: hockey, football, cricket, or netball.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to working with young people and promoting a positive sporting environment.
  • Availability to work Monday to Friday, 9.00am – 5.30pm, and an average of 3 hours on Saturdays.

Preferred

  • Experience in coaching or mentoring young athletes.
  • Knowledge of sports scholarship programmes or elite performance pathways.
  • Previous experience in a school or sports organisation.
  • Strong leadership and organisational skills.
  • Familiarity with sports administration and fixture planning.
