The Opportunity:

As an Attendance Administrator, you will play a vital role in supporting the school's mission to improve student attendance and punctuality. You will work closely with students and families to promote a positive attitude towards education and ensure that parents understand their responsibilities regarding attendance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and monitor student attendance records to identify patterns and address persistent absence.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff to promote positive attendance behaviors.
  • Provide support and guidance to families to help them understand the importance of regular school attendance.
  • Collaborate with other school departments to ensure a coordinated approach to improving attendance.
  • Maintain accurate records and report attendance data to relevant stakeholders.
  • Organize and deliver attendance-related training or information sessions for parents and students.
  • Support the school in raising achievement through improved attendance and punctuality.
  • Work closely with the Multi-Academy Trust to align attendance strategies with broader educational goals.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in a school or educational setting, preferably in attendance or administrative roles.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students and parents.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Understanding of statutory responsibilities related to school attendance.
  • Commitment to student welfare and achievement.

Preferred

  • Experience working within a Multi-Academy Trust or similar educational organization.
  • Knowledge of attendance policies and procedures in schools.
  • Experience with data management systems or attendance tracking software.
  • Experience in supporting students with special educational needs or additional needs.
