Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality English lessons from Key Stage 3 through to A Level, fostering a love of literature and language.
  • Develop and implement engaging and challenging curricula that meet the needs of all students.
  • Support students’ academic progress through effective assessment, feedback, and pastoral care.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and contribute to departmental development.
  • Engage in the wider school community through extracurricular activities and events.
  • Participate in the planning and delivery of school-wide initiatives and professional development opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate records and report on student progress and achievement.
  • Encourage a culture of intellectual curiosity, creativity, and personal growth within the classroom.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in teaching English at Key Stage 3, GCSE, and A Level.
  • Strong subject knowledge in English Literature and Language.
  • Commitment to delivering first-class teaching and student support.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and take on leadership responsibilities.

Preferred

  • Experience in a boarding school or international school setting.
  • Background in teaching English as a Second Language.
  • Experience with curriculum development and innovative teaching methods.
  • Passion for extracurricular activities and student leadership.
