The Opportunity:
As an Attendance and Safeguarding Officer, you will play a vital role in ensuring student attendance and safeguarding. You will work closely with students, staff, and parents to reduce absence and support the Designated Safeguarding Lead. This is a term-time position offering a pro-rata salary and the opportunity to make a real impact on student outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and report on whole school attendance data with accuracy and regularity.
- Analyse attendance data to identify patterns and areas of concern.
- Work collaboratively with students, parents, and staff to reduce absence and improve engagement.
- Support the Designated Safeguarding Lead in safeguarding procedures and child protection.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date written records of all attendance and safeguarding-related activities.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve attendance and student well-being.
- Liaise with external agencies and professionals as required.
- Attend relevant training and continue to develop skills in attendance management and safeguarding.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Experience in a similar role within an educational setting.
- Strong organisational and analytical skills with the ability to interpret data.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- High level of accuracy in record keeping and reporting.
- Commitment to safeguarding and child protection.
Preferred
- Experience in working with children and families.
- Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and child protection policies.
- Experience with data management systems and software.
- Understanding of educational frameworks and student welfare policies.
- Experience in a school or academy setting.
