The Opportunity:

As Deputy Headteacher - Quality of Education, you will play a pivotal role in driving curriculum and teaching excellence across the school. This is a key leadership position focused on raising educational standards and ensuring a high-quality learning experience for all students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee the quality of teaching and learning across all key stages.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve curriculum delivery and student outcomes.
  • Support and mentor teaching staff to enhance pedagogical practices.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of teaching and learning initiatives.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to shape school-wide educational priorities.
  • Ensure alignment with the school’s Catholic mission and values in all educational practices.
  • Promote a culture of continuous professional development among staff.
  • Work closely with the Headteacher to drive school improvement and achieve strategic goals.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in curriculum leadership at a senior level.
  • Strong background in teaching and learning, preferably through a Head of Department route.
  • Current role at Assistant Head or Deputy Head level.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage educational improvement initiatives.
  • Commitment to Catholic values and the role of religion in education.

Preferred

  • Experience in school improvement and raising standards in education.
  • Knowledge of Catholic education and its principles.
  • Experience with pastoral leadership or whole-school improvement projects.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
