Job Description

Summary:

Join a school as an Attendance Officer on a part-time basis with term-time hours.

The Opportunity:

As an Attendance Officer, you will play a key role in managing student attendance and providing administrative support to ensure the smooth running of the school’s attendance processes. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who is organized, detail-oriented, and committed to supporting student success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and monitor student attendance records and lesson monitoring data.
  • Produce attendance charts, statistics, and evidence for penalty fines or court cases.
  • Provide general clerical support, including typing, word processing, filing, and reprographics.
  • Prepare and distribute reports, letters, and meeting minutes as required.
  • Collaborate with other members of the attendance team to ensure accurate and timely data management.
  • Support the school in maintaining high attendance rates and addressing any attendance-related issues.
  • Assist in the administration of school policies and procedures related to attendance and student welfare.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in line with school and trust standards.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience in an administrative or clerical role, preferably within an educational setting.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping.
  • Proficiency in using office software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and email systems.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to supporting student attendance and wellbeing.

Preferred

  • Experience in a school or academy environment.
  • Knowledge of attendance policies and procedures in education.
  • Experience with data management and report preparation.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Flexibility to work across different departments when required.
