Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and prepare engaging and effective maths lessons tailored to the needs and abilities of students.
  • Deliver high-quality teaching that challenges and motivates students to excel in numeracy.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing targeted support to ensure all students achieve their goals.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to develop and implement schemes of work and curriculum plans.
  • Stay up to date with best practices in maths education and continuously improve teaching methods.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages curiosity and a love for learning.
  • Support the school’s Catholic ethos and contribute to the spiritual and moral development of students.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with a relevant degree and appropriate teaching qualification.
  • Proven experience in teaching maths at a secondary level.
  • Strong subject knowledge and the ability to deliver innovative and engaging lessons.
  • Commitment to student progress and the ability to adapt teaching methods to suit diverse learning needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong moral and ethical principles.

Preferred

  • Experience in delivering outstanding results in external examinations.
  • Familiarity with Catholic education and a commitment to the school’s ethos.
  • Experience in working within a multi-academy trust.
  • Experience with Continuing Professional Development and a willingness to engage in further training.
