The Opportunity:

As a Behavioural Pastoral Manager, you will lead the implementation of whole-school behaviour systems, ensuring consistency, fairness, and clarity in sanctions such as detentions, isolation, and suspensions. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape a culture where students can learn and succeed with confidence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the daily operation of whole-school behaviour systems, ensuring clarity, consistency, and impact.
  • Implement and manage key systems including detentions, isolation, and suspensions with precision and fairness.
  • Coordinate responses with senior leaders, Heads of Year, and pastoral teams to maintain high standards.
  • Support staff in upholding behaviour expectations and reinforcing a positive school culture.
  • Ensure routines are seamless and the school remains calm, orderly, and purposeful.
  • Maintain strong safeguarding and inclusion practices in decision-making.
  • Provide high-quality CPD and training to support behaviour leadership and team development.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of behaviour systems and make recommendations for improvement.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Evidence of CPD relevant to behaviour management
  • Significant experience in a pastoral, behaviour, or youth role
  • Experience of working with external agencies
  • Understanding of safeguarding indicators

Preferred

  • Experience in a leadership or management role within a school setting
  • Knowledge of national behaviour and attendance expectations
  • Experience in developing and quality-assuring behaviour systems
