The Opportunity:

As a Senior Pastoral Manager, you will lead the school’s PEX prevention strategy, focusing on at-risk students and ensuring timely, coordinated intervention. This is a key role in shaping the school’s culture and supporting students to overcome barriers and achieve positive outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop the PEX prevention strategy, ensuring it is effective and impactful.
  • Manage high-risk casework and provide support to vulnerable students and their families.
  • Work closely with external agencies and senior leaders to coordinate interventions.
  • Monitor and evaluate the impact of pastoral initiatives on student outcomes.
  • Deliver training and support to staff on behaviour management and safeguarding.
  • Ensure consistency in pastoral practices across the school.
  • Build strong relationships with families and community partners.
  • Contribute to the development of school-wide policies and procedures.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • GCSE English & Maths (Minimum)
  • Evidence of CPD in behaviour, safeguarding or youth work
  • Significant pastoral or behaviour support experience
  • Strong understanding of behaviour management and de-escalation
  • High-level safeguarding knowledge

Preferred

  • Experience in leading pastoral or behaviour initiatives
  • Experience with PEX prevention or student support programmes
  • Leadership or management experience in a school or similar setting
  • Knowledge of inclusion and student welfare strategies
