The Opportunity:

As a Biology Teacher, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality science education to students across KS3, KS4, and the sixth form. You will contribute to science-themed enrichment programmes and benefit from a supportive, collaborative department focused on academic excellence and student growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach KS3 and KS4 Biology with engaging and innovative lesson plans.
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of science-themed enrichment programmes.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share resources and reduce workload.
  • Support students in achieving academic success and developing strong character.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and research opportunities.
  • Engage in curriculum planning and assessment strategies.
  • Mentor and support early career teachers where applicable.
  • Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in Biology education.
  • Strong subject knowledge and passion for teaching.
  • Experience teaching KS3 and KS4 students.
  • Commitment to character education and student development.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Preferred

  • Experience with A-level Biology teaching.
  • Background in science-themed enrichment activities.
  • Experience with research and development in education.
  • Familiarity with the University of Birmingham’s resources and partnerships.
  • Early Career Teacher support experience.
