The Opportunity:
As a Biology Teacher, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality science education to students across KS3, KS4, and the sixth form. You will contribute to science-themed enrichment programmes and benefit from a supportive, collaborative department focused on academic excellence and student growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach KS3 and KS4 Biology with engaging and innovative lesson plans.
- Contribute to the development and delivery of science-themed enrichment programmes.
- Collaborate with colleagues to share resources and reduce workload.
- Support students in achieving academic success and developing strong character.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and research opportunities.
- Engage in curriculum planning and assessment strategies.
- Mentor and support early career teachers where applicable.
- Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with experience in Biology education.
- Strong subject knowledge and passion for teaching.
- Experience teaching KS3 and KS4 students.
- Commitment to character education and student development.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Preferred
- Experience with A-level Biology teaching.
- Background in science-themed enrichment activities.
- Experience with research and development in education.
- Familiarity with the University of Birmingham’s resources and partnerships.
- Early Career Teacher support experience.
