Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging, well-structured, and differentiated English lessons aligned with the school’s curriculum
- Inspire and motivate students to achieve high academic outcomes and a lifelong passion for learning
- Take on leadership responsibilities within the English department
- Plan and implement rigorous teaching strategies that foster intellectual curiosity and critical thinking
- Support the school’s values of ambition, resilience, and kindness through daily practice and student engagement
- Collaborate with colleagues to continuously improve teaching and learning across the school
- Monitor and assess student progress to ensure all pupils meet or exceed expected outcomes
- Contribute to the development of the school’s character and virtue pathways
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with relevant experience in English education
- Demonstrated ability to improve student outcomes and drive academic success
- Strong subject knowledge in English and a commitment to high-quality teaching
- Experience in delivering lessons that align with a structured and ambitious curriculum
- Ability to lead and take responsibility within a department
Preferred
- Experience in leading or mentoring other teachers
- Familiarity with the Ark ethos and values
- Experience with character development and virtue-based education
- Background in extra-curricular activities or student leadership programs
- Experience with inclusive teaching strategies and differentiated instruction
