The Opportunity:

A Biology Teacher is needed to join a dynamic Science Department and cover a Maternity leave position. The role involves teaching Biology up to KS5 and contributing to a range of science enrichment activities, including Olympiads and Sustainability projects. Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging, insightful, and inspiring Biology lessons to students at all levels.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop high-quality teaching resources and innovative lesson plans.
  • Support students in achieving academic excellence through personalized teaching and mentorship.
  • Encourage participation in science-related extracurricular activities, such as Olympiads and Sustainability projects.
  • Use technology and problem-solving approaches to enhance student understanding and engagement.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school through pastoral support and community involvement.
  • Monitor and track student progress to ensure continuous improvement and success.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development to maintain and enhance teaching skills.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified Biology teacher with relevant experience.
  • Ability to teach Biology up to KS5.
  • Passion for inspiring and motivating students.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare.

Preferred

  • Experience in teaching other Science specialisms.
  • Familiarity with international education and student support.
  • Experience with Olympiad or enrichment programs.
  • Background in using technology in the classroom.
  • ECTs are welcome and supported.
