The Opportunity:

The Head of Business Studies will lead a dynamic and well-resourced department, delivering high academic outcomes for pupils at A Level. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced and inspirational teacher to take on a leadership role and make a meaningful impact on student achievement and departmental success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Business Studies department, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning.
  • Deliver high-quality A Level Business lessons and contribute to the school's pastoral and wider-curricular programme.
  • Support and mentor colleagues, fostering a collaborative and professional teaching environment.
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress, providing targeted support to enhance academic outcomes.
  • Contribute to the development of the school’s curriculum and extracurricular activities.
  • Work closely with other departments, including the Economics team, where appropriate.
  • Promote the school’s values and ethos through teaching and pastoral care.
  • Participate in staff meetings, planning, and professional development activities.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in A Level Business Studies.
  • Proven record of achieving high academic outcomes for students.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Experience in departmental management and team leadership.
  • Commitment to pastoral care and student well-being.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and across the school.

Preferred

  • Experience teaching A Level Economics.
  • Experience in a leadership role within a school or college.
  • Experience with curriculum development and innovation.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Flexibility to work 4.5 days per week, including a Saturday morning.
