Early Years Practitioner needed at a school in Cambridge. Support pupils and lead after-school activities.

The Opportunity:
As an Early Years Practitioner, you will play a vital role in supporting young learners and contributing to a stimulating, safe, and inclusive learning environment. You will be responsible for managing after-school provision and delivering high-quality care and education to children aged 3-5.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support pupils in engaging with age-appropriate activities that promote learning and development.
- Contribute to individual learning journeys and observations of pupil progress.
- Assist with child-led learning and provide care tasks such as washing, changing, and comforting children.
- Maintain a safe, stimulating, and inclusive environment that reflects the cultural and religious backgrounds of pupils.
- Manage and supervise children during Late Stay provision, ensuring accurate records and adherence to ratios.
- Support the planning and delivery of holiday provision for Kindergarten and Reception children.
- Contribute to the development of PEPs and support pupils with special needs and disabilities.
- Promote and model the school’s values, including safeguarding, wellbeing, and equal opportunities.
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure the school’s ethos is reflected in all aspects of work.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Experience working with young children in an educational or care setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work flexibly and support a wide range of responsibilities, including domestic tasks.
- Commitment to safeguarding and child protection.
- Understanding of Early Years Foundation Stage requirements.
Preferred
- Previous experience in a school or nursery setting.
- Experience with behaviour management and child development.
- Familiarity with planning and delivering educational activities.
- Experience with supporting children with special needs and disabilities.

- Competitive salary range of £29,717 - £31,416 per annum.
