Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality Chemistry lessons in well-resourced laboratories, following the Edexcel GCSE and A Level curricula.
  • Plan and implement engaging, practical-based teaching strategies that promote deep conceptual understanding.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing detailed feedback to support continuous improvement.
  • Contribute to the development of the Chemistry department through collaboration and innovation in teaching methods.
  • Support students in preparing for public examinations and extracurricular science competitions.
  • Participate in the academic, pastoral, and extra-curricular life of the school.
  • Maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment that promotes student well-being and success.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with a strong background in Chemistry.
  • Proven ability to deliver high-quality science education at GCSE and A Level.
  • Experience in fostering student motivation and academic excellence.
  • Strong subject knowledge and commitment to practical, inquiry-based learning.
  • Excellent communication and classroom management skills.

Preferred

  • Experience in teaching in a high-achieving academic environment.
  • Familiarity with science competitions and Olympiads.
  • Experience in supporting students through university applications and Oxbridge admissions.
  • Experience with inclusive and innovative teaching methods.
