The Opportunity:

A school is seeking a dedicated Biology Teacher to join its thriving department. This role offers the chance to inspire students in Years 9 to 13 and contribute to a vibrant, forward-thinking academic community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality, engaging lessons in Biology to students in Years 9 and above, and Science to Years 7 and 8.
  • Foster a stimulating and inclusive classroom environment that promotes curiosity and a love of learning.
  • Monitor and support student progress, ensuring academic success and personal development.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement innovative teaching strategies and curricula.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, staff training, and extracurricular activities.
  • Maintain accurate records of student performance and attendance.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school through pastoral care and community engagement.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with a relevant degree in Biology or a related science subject.
  • Proven experience teaching Biology at Key Stage 3 and 4, and Science at Key Stage 3.
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills.
  • Commitment to student welfare and pastoral care.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and as an individual.

Preferred

  • Experience in a boarding or day school environment.
  • Familiarity with the latest teaching technologies and pedagogical approaches.
  • Experience with assessment and exam preparation.
  • Passion for science and enthusiasm for inspiring the next generation of scientists.
