Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality, engaging lessons in Biology to students in Years 9 and above, and Science to Years 7 and 8.
- Foster a stimulating and inclusive classroom environment that promotes curiosity and a love of learning.
- Monitor and support student progress, ensuring academic success and personal development.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement innovative teaching strategies and curricula.
- Participate in departmental meetings, staff training, and extracurricular activities.
- Maintain accurate records of student performance and attendance.
- Contribute to the wider life of the school through pastoral care and community engagement.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with a relevant degree in Biology or a related science subject.
- Proven experience teaching Biology at Key Stage 3 and 4, and Science at Key Stage 3.
- Strong classroom management and communication skills.
- Commitment to student welfare and pastoral care.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and as an individual.
Preferred
- Experience in a boarding or day school environment.
- Familiarity with the latest teaching technologies and pedagogical approaches.
- Experience with assessment and exam preparation.
- Passion for science and enthusiasm for inspiring the next generation of scientists.
