The Opportunity:
As a Building Services Supervisor, you will play a vital role in maintaining the school’s facilities and ensuring a safe, welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. Your work will support the school’s mission to provide a high-quality education and promote the well-being of all.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure the maintenance and upkeep of internal and external environments in line with Health and Safety standards.
- Oversee security measures and monitor the building and site for safety and order.
- Assist with porterage duties, grounds maintenance, and minor repairs as needed.
- Coordinate cleaning and maintenance tasks to ensure a clean and functional school environment.
- Manage and support the implementation of school policies related to building services.
- Communicate effectively with staff, students, and visitors to address concerns and ensure smooth operations.
- Maintain a flexible working schedule, including rotational shifts and potential changes at short notice.
- Support the school’s commitment to inclusion by ensuring all areas of the school are accessible and welcoming.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Strong DIY and maintenance skills with the ability to perform minor repairs.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills to interact with staff, students, and visitors.
- Experience in building services, maintenance, or a related field.
- Commitment to the school’s values of inclusion, care, and excellence.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including rotational shifts and occasional evenings or weekends.
Preferred
- Previous experience in a school or educational setting.
- Knowledge of Health and Safety regulations and best practices.
- Experience with grounds maintenance or facility management.
- Strong problem-solving and initiative-taking abilities.
- Experience working with diverse communities and supporting inclusive practices.
