The Opportunity:

As a Building Services Supervisor, you will play a vital role in maintaining the school’s facilities and ensuring a safe, welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. Your work will support the school’s mission to provide a high-quality education and promote the well-being of all.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the maintenance and upkeep of internal and external environments in line with Health and Safety standards.
  • Oversee security measures and monitor the building and site for safety and order.
  • Assist with porterage duties, grounds maintenance, and minor repairs as needed.
  • Coordinate cleaning and maintenance tasks to ensure a clean and functional school environment.
  • Manage and support the implementation of school policies related to building services.
  • Communicate effectively with staff, students, and visitors to address concerns and ensure smooth operations.
  • Maintain a flexible working schedule, including rotational shifts and potential changes at short notice.
  • Support the school’s commitment to inclusion by ensuring all areas of the school are accessible and welcoming.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Strong DIY and maintenance skills with the ability to perform minor repairs.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills to interact with staff, students, and visitors.
  • Experience in building services, maintenance, or a related field.
  • Commitment to the school’s values of inclusion, care, and excellence.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including rotational shifts and occasional evenings or weekends.

Preferred

  • Previous experience in a school or educational setting.
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety regulations and best practices.
  • Experience with grounds maintenance or facility management.
  • Strong problem-solving and initiative-taking abilities.
  • Experience working with diverse communities and supporting inclusive practices.
