The Opportunity:

We are seeking a Senior Lab Technician to support the Science department and ensure the delivery of high-quality practical learning experiences. This role is essential in maintaining a safe, well-equipped, and inspiring laboratory environment for students.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and maintain all laboratory equipment, ensuring it is in good working order and up to date.
• Support the Science department by preparing and setting up experiments and practical sessions.
• Ensure all health and safety standards are strictly followed in the laboratory.
• Maintain accurate records of laboratory usage, inventory, and consumables.
• Collaborate with teachers to develop and implement practical learning activities.
• Assist in the planning and organisation of science events and trips.
• Provide technical support and guidance to students and staff as required.
• Keep the laboratory clean, tidy, and compliant with all safety regulations.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

• Relevant qualifications in a science or technical field.
• Proven experience as a lab technician or in a similar role.
• Strong knowledge of laboratory safety procedures and regulations.
• Excellent organisational and time management skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred

• Experience working in an educational setting.
• Familiarity with modern laboratory equipment and software.
• Experience with curriculum development or teaching support.
• Ability to provide technical guidance to students.
