The Opportunity:

As an Assistant Principal, you will lead a key area of whole-school responsibility and play a pivotal role in driving school improvement. This is an opportunity to shape the future of a growing academy, ensuring high standards of achievement, behaviour, and personal development for all students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead one of two key portfolios: Behaviour, Safeguarding and Attendance or Quality of Education and Sixth Form.
  • Contribute to the strategic and operational leadership of the academy, delivering the Academy Development Plan.
  • Line manage staff and develop high-performing teams through coaching and professional development.
  • Champion a culture of high expectations, continuous improvement, and inclusion.
  • Ensure that all students, including disadvantaged and vulnerable learners, are supported to achieve their full potential.
  • Model professionalism and build strong relationships with stakeholders.
  • Implement systems and strategies consistently across the academy to drive measurable impact on student outcomes.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven leadership experience in an educational setting.
  • Experience in driving school improvement and achieving high standards in student outcomes.
  • Strong knowledge of safeguarding, behaviour management, and attendance procedures.
  • Ability to lead and manage teams effectively.
  • Experience in curriculum development and Sixth Form provision is an advantage.

Preferred

  • Experience in a Multi-Academy Trust or similar educational setting.
  • Experience with digital and creative curriculum delivery.
  • Strong industry connections within the digital and creative sectors.
  • Experience in leading and developing a Sixth Form provision.
