The Opportunity:

As a Careers Advisor Higher Education UCAS and Alumni Coordinator, you will play a key role in managing the UCAS application process for Year 13 students. This position is vital in ensuring a smooth and supportive application journey, helping students achieve their goals and transition successfully into higher education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the UCAS application process for Year 13 students, ensuring timely and accurate submissions.
  • Provide individualised support and guidance to students throughout the application process.
  • Coordinate with the Head of the Student Support Hub to maintain high standards of quality control.
  • Liaise with external institutions and alumni to build strong relationships and support student transitions.
  • Organise and deliver careers advice sessions and events for students and parents.
  • Maintain accurate records and track student progress through the application process.
  • Support the development of alumni engagement initiatives to enhance student outcomes.
  • Ensure compliance with all UCAS and institutional policies and procedures.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in managing UCAS applications and supporting students through the higher education application process.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience working with 16–19 year olds in an educational setting.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and student welfare.

Preferred

  • Experience in alumni engagement or careers advisory work.
  • Familiarity with higher education admissions processes and systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team and under pressure.
  • Knowledge of professional development opportunities for staff.
