The Opportunity:

As a Careers Counsellor, you will play a vital role in guiding students through their academic and career pathways. You will support students in navigating university and college admissions, scholarships, and international pathways, ensuring they are well-prepared for the next stage of their education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert guidance and support to students and parents in university and college admissions processes
  • Advise students on academic pathways, including IB, HSC, and other international qualifications
  • Support students in applying for scholarships and accommodation
  • Maintain strong communication with students, parents, and university representatives
  • Develop and deliver career-related workshops and programs
  • Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to ensure a holistic approach to student development
  • Stay updated on global university admissions policies and requirements
  • Assist students in making informed decisions about their future academic and career goals

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • At least three years’ experience in an international environment
  • Minimum 3 years in an Academic and College Counselling role
  • Experience advising students on Australian pathways
  • Experience advising students with UCAS and the CommonApp
  • Experience advising students to various countries around the world

Preferred

  • Master’s degree in the relevant field
  • Experience with the International Baccalaureate Diploma (IBDP) and Higher School Certificate (HSC)
  • Experience advising students with scholarships
  • Experience with accommodation applications
  • Strong organisational ability and ability to meet deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills
  • Familiarity with the goals, objectives, and mission of an independent college preparatory school
