The Opportunity:
As a Careers Counsellor, you will play a vital role in guiding students through their academic and career pathways. You will support students in navigating university and college admissions, scholarships, and international pathways, ensuring they are well-prepared for the next stage of their education.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert guidance and support to students and parents in university and college admissions processes
- Advise students on academic pathways, including IB, HSC, and other international qualifications
- Support students in applying for scholarships and accommodation
- Maintain strong communication with students, parents, and university representatives
- Develop and deliver career-related workshops and programs
- Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to ensure a holistic approach to student development
- Stay updated on global university admissions policies and requirements
- Assist students in making informed decisions about their future academic and career goals
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
- At least three years’ experience in an international environment
- Minimum 3 years in an Academic and College Counselling role
- Experience advising students on Australian pathways
- Experience advising students with UCAS and the CommonApp
- Experience advising students to various countries around the world
Preferred
- Master’s degree in the relevant field
- Experience with the International Baccalaureate Diploma (IBDP) and Higher School Certificate (HSC)
- Experience advising students with scholarships
- Experience with accommodation applications
- Strong organisational ability and ability to meet deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong interpersonal communication skills
- Familiarity with the goals, objectives, and mission of an independent college preparatory school
