The Opportunity:

The Head of Swimming will lead and develop the school’s swimming program, ensuring high-quality instruction and a safe, inclusive environment for students of all ages. This role is ideal for a passionate and experienced coach looking to make a meaningful impact on student development and school excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee the swimming program, ensuring it meets the highest standards of teaching and student engagement.
  • Develop and implement lesson plans that align with the school’s curriculum and promote student growth.
  • Coordinate with other staff to integrate swimming into the broader educational experience.
  • Supervise and mentor swimming coaches, providing guidance and support to enhance teaching quality.
  • Communicate effectively with parents, students, and staff, representing the school with professionalism and enthusiasm.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all students during swimming sessions and events.
  • Organize and lead swimming competitions and events, promoting school spirit and student participation.
  • Stay updated with developments in swimming education and training methodologies.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Bachelor's Degree in Sports Science, Coaching, or Sport Management
  • Minimum 5 years of swim coaching experience in a large age group program
  • Certified First Aider
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours including before and after school and on weekends

Preferred

  • FINA Level 2 Coach, AustSwim Competitive Strokes, or UKCC Level 2 certification (or international equivalent)
  • Experience working with children of diverse backgrounds and nationalities
  • Familiarity with international school environments and parent communication
