The Opportunity:

As a Head of Art, you will lead and shape the artistic vision of the Senior School, playing a key role in the school’s growth and development. This is a unique chance to influence curriculum delivery, promote creativity, and inspire students across all key stages.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead curriculum planning and delivery for Art across all key stages.
  • Promote excellence, creativity, and innovation in Art teaching and learning.
  • Oversee assessment, tracking, and reporting for Art students.
  • Teach across Key Stages, including IGCSE/GCSE and A-level.
  • Model best practice as an outstanding classroom practitioner.
  • Develop and manage the department’s enrichment and extension programme.
  • Support students in applying to leading universities.
  • Collaborate with Heads of EAL and AEN to support student transition and learning.
  • Contribute to safeguarding, pastoral systems, and co-curricular activities.
  • Uphold the highest standards of child protection and safeguarding.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Art with PGCE or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in delivering GCSEs/IGCSEs and A-levels.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in a school setting.
  • Strong commitment to continuous professional development.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a diverse, international environment.

Preferred

  • Experience in middle leadership roles.
  • Ability to support Design & Technology.
  • Experience working in international schools.
  • Strong writing and speaking abilities.
  • Familiarity with the UK curriculum and international education standards.
