The Opportunity:

As a Careers Lead, you will play a vital role in delivering effective careers education, advice, and guidance to students. This position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students' futures by helping them navigate transitions and build confidence in their abilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver careers education, information, and guidance through lessons, tutorials, and assemblies.
  • Work closely with parents and families to support smooth transitions to further education, employment, or training.
  • Collaborate with external partners, such as colleges and work experience providers, to enhance student opportunities.
  • Provide consistent careers advice tailored to the individual needs of students.
  • Support students in developing the skills and confidence needed to achieve their goals.
  • Promote inclusive practices that celebrate the diverse strengths and achievements of all students.
  • Ensure alignment with the school’s mission to prepare students for independent, socially competent adulthood.
  • Contribute to the school’s goal of becoming a centre of excellence in education and support.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in delivering careers education and guidance in a school or educational setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage with students, parents, and external partners.
  • Experience working with young people with additional needs and learning difficulties.
  • Ability to develop and deliver structured careers programmes.
  • Commitment to inclusion, diversity, and student wellbeing.

Preferred

  • Experience in SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) education.
  • Knowledge of transition planning and post-16 pathways.
  • Experience with external agencies and work experience placements.
  • Familiarity with safeguarding and child protection procedures.
  • Experience in a school setting within an academy trust.
