Key Responsibilities:
- Support students in the classroom, ensuring they engage with learning and interact positively with others.
- Assist teachers in managing the classroom and providing individualised support to students with diverse needs.
- Encourage students to participate in activities and develop their confidence and independence.
- Maintain a safe and supportive environment that promotes student wellbeing and progress.
- Collaborate with teaching staff to plan and deliver effective learning experiences.
- Monitor student behaviour and provide regular feedback to teachers.
- Support the implementation of individual education plans and personal development goals.
- Contribute to the school’s inclusive culture by fostering respect, empathy, and teamwork.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Experience working with students with learning difficulties and additional needs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
- Flexibility and adaptability to support a range of student needs.
Preferred
- Experience in a school or educational setting.
- Knowledge of inclusive education practices.
- Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language.
- Understanding of SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) frameworks.
- Previous experience in a SEND setting or working with young people with complex needs.
