The Opportunity:
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Head of Computing to lead and teach Computing across KS3, 4 and 5. This role offers the opportunity to shape the future of computing education and inspire students to achieve exceptional outcomes in GCSE and A-Level qualifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the Computing department, providing expert subject knowledge and leadership.
- Deliver high-quality teaching and learning across all key stages, with a focus on GCSE and A-Level Computer Science and IT.
- Develop and implement a curriculum that reflects current educational research and industry standards.
- Motivate and support both pupils and staff, fostering a culture of high expectations and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance whole-school achievement and raise standards in computing education.
- Stay up to date with developments in the field of computing and incorporate them into teaching and learning.
- Promote the school’s values of respect, believe and achieve through all aspects of the role.
- Work closely with senior leadership to drive strategic goals and improve student outcomes.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with a strong record of delivering high-quality lessons.
- Experience teaching Computing at KS3, 4 and 5 with excellent curriculum knowledge.
- Strong understanding of current educational research and best practice.
- Ability to lead and motivate both pupils and staff.
- Resilient character with a strong personal drive and commitment to excellence.
- Enthusiastic and passionate about computing education and student achievement.
Preferred
- Experience in curriculum leadership or departmental management.
- Background in developing and delivering CPD for staff.
- Experience with IT and Digital Media qualifications at KS4 and 5.
- Familiarity with the use of technology in the classroom and innovative teaching methods.
