As the Head of Art, you will lead a highly successful department and play a key role in shaping the future of art education. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and passionate Art specialist to make a lasting impact on students and the department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Art department, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning.
  • Develop and implement a creative and inclusive curriculum that inspires student engagement and achievement.
  • Support the delivery of Eduqas Art, Craft & Design and Photography courses at both GCSE and A Level.
  • Organize and oversee extra-curricular activities, including art trips and artist workshops.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the school to enhance cultural capital and student experiences.
  • Foster a supportive and creative environment that encourages student experimentation and artistic development.
  • Work closely with external partners on community art projects and public art initiatives.
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress, ensuring continuous improvement in outcomes.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in teaching Art at both GCSE and A Level.
  • A strong track record in delivering outstanding results and raising student aspirations.
  • Experience in leading a successful Art department and managing a team.
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
  • A passion for the arts and a commitment to fostering creativity in students.

Preferred

  • Experience with Eduqas Art, Craft & Design and Photography qualifications.
  • Knowledge of artsmark and other arts accreditation schemes.
  • Experience in organizing and delivering extra-curricular art activities.
  • Experience in community and public art projects.
