The Opportunity:
We are seeking a Catering Assistant to support our catering team in the preparation, cooking, and serving of food and beverages. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about providing high-quality catering services in a dynamic and welcoming school environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook food and beverages according to set standards and dietary requirements.
- Assist in the serving of meals to students and staff in a timely and efficient manner.
- Maintain a clean and hygienic working environment in line with health and safety regulations.
- Support the catering team with general duties, including stock management and equipment maintenance.
- Ensure that all food is stored and prepared in accordance with food safety guidelines.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues and students to ensure a smooth and pleasant service experience.
- Assist in the planning and execution of special catering events and school functions.
- Monitor and report on any issues or concerns related to food quality or service.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Previous experience in a catering or hospitality role, ideally within an educational setting.
- A good understanding of food safety and hygiene standards.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including term time only and within the specified schedule.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Reliable and punctual, with a commitment to providing excellent customer service.
Preferred
- Experience with school catering operations or meal planning.
- Knowledge of dietary requirements and the ability to accommodate special needs.
- Basic cooking skills and an interest in food preparation.
- A friendly and approachable personality with a passion for hospitality.
