The Opportunity:

A Speech and Language Therapist is needed to join a dedicated therapy team and make a meaningful impact on students’ lives. This role offers the chance to work in a supportive and collaborative environment, helping students with autism reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individual and group speech and language therapy sessions tailored to students’ needs
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to develop and implement intervention plans
  • Assess and monitor students’ progress through regular evaluations and reports
  • Design and deliver therapy sessions that support communication, social skills, and emotional development
  • Work closely with the Therapy Manager to ensure consistent and high-quality service delivery
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation in line with school policies and procedures
  • Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities
  • Support students during school-based activities and transitions

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
  • BSc in Speech and Language Therapy or equivalent professional qualification
  • Experience working with young people, particularly those with autism or complex needs
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team

Preferred

  • Experience in a school or educational setting
  • Knowledge of autism spectrum disorders and associated learning difficulties
  • Experience with assessment and intervention planning
  • Familiarity with specialist therapy rooms and sensory environments
