The Opportunity:
As Head of Mathematics, you will lead a dedicated department and inspire students to achieve outstanding results in mathematics. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop the mathematics department, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning.
- Inspire and motivate students across KS3 to KS5, fostering a love of mathematics and encouraging excellent academic outcomes.
- Support and mentor colleagues within the department, promoting a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Contribute to the pastoral and wider curriculum life of the school, ensuring a holistic approach to student development.
- Monitor and evaluate student progress, implementing strategies to raise achievement and close gaps.
- Work closely with senior leadership to align departmental goals with the school’s strategic vision.
- Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment that reflects the school’s values.
- Represent the department in meetings, conferences, and external events.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience in teaching mathematics at KS3 to KS5.
- Demonstrated leadership experience, ideally as a Head of Department.
- A strong track record of achieving excellent student outcomes.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Preferred
- Experience in leading a large or successful department.
- Familiarity with curriculum development and assessment practices.
- Experience with pastoral care and student support.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Experience with boarding and day school environments.
