Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality Science lessons at KS3 and Chemistry at KS4 and KS5.
  • Promote a culture of behaviour, character, and academic rigour in line with the school’s values.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure consistent and effective teaching practices.
  • Support student progress through evidence-informed instruction and regular assessment.
  • Participate in departmental planning, CPD, and professional development.
  • Engage in enrichment activities and extracurricular science projects.
  • Maintain a safe and stimulating learning environment for all students.
  • Work closely with students and parents to support individual learning and development.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified Science Teacher with experience in teaching Science at KS3 and Chemistry at KS4 and KS5.
  • Commitment to a warm/strict approach and high academic standards.
  • Strong belief in the importance of character development and student outcomes.
  • Experience in evidence-informed teaching and a passion for pedagogy.
  • Ability to work as part of a collaborative and supportive team.

Preferred

  • Experience in leading or contributing to departmental planning and CPD.
  • Background in teaching in a school with a strong focus on academic excellence and inclusion.
  • Familiarity with Direct Instruction methods and student-centred learning strategies.
  • Experience in working with students from diverse backgrounds.
