The Opportunity:

As a Class Teacher, you will play a vital role in planning, preparing, and delivering an engaging and inclusive curriculum tailored to the needs of young boys aged 4 to 8. You will create a supportive learning environment that nurtures academic and personal development, while ensuring pupils are well-prepared for 7+ and 8+ examinations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare and implement the agreed school curriculum to cater for the needs of all children within the assigned class.
  • Provide well-planned, engaging learning experiences and support for all learners, delivering a diverse and differentiated curriculum.
  • Observe and evaluate the progress of each child, ensuring they reach their maximum potential.
  • Create a warm, friendly and supportive atmosphere that supports the social and emotional needs of the children.
  • Record and monitor student progress in line with the school’s defined procedures.
  • Provide pastoral support to ensure each child reaches their potential and is alert to any signs of emotional distress.
  • Efficiently mark and comment upon pupil’s work as defined by the school policy.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to support student transitions and contribute to the wider school community.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Be a fully qualified teacher.
  • Have a thorough, up-to-date knowledge of the teaching year group curriculum.
  • Be committed to making a difference to all children of all abilities and talents.
  • Be a dynamic, proactive teacher who values children and uses a variety of teaching styles to aid learning.

Preferred

  • Experience with early years education or teaching boys.
  • Experience with preparing students for 7+ and 8+ examinations.
  • Strong communication skills with parents and colleagues.
