The Opportunity:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver high-quality, engaging lessons aligned with the school’s curriculum and schemes of work
  • Set and mark class and homework tasks to support student progress and attainment
  • Adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse needs and abilities of Key Stage 1 pupils
  • Maintain a classroom environment that encourages effective learning and celebrates student achievement
  • Work collaboratively with specialist teachers, teaching assistants, and other staff members
  • Support and maintain regular communication with parents through the Parent Portal and other channels
  • Contribute to school events, marketing initiatives, and school publications
  • Organise and lead a class assembly annually
  • Provide cover lesson plans in the event of absence

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant postgraduate teaching qualification
  • Proven experience teaching Key Stage 1
  • Strong subject knowledge and commitment to delivering a high-quality curriculum
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and take ownership of responsibilities
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • High expectations of student behaviour, attainment, and progress

Preferred

  • Experience with whole-school initiatives and professional development
  • Familiarity with inclusive teaching strategies and differentiated instruction
  • Experience with pastoral care and student support
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
