The Opportunity:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach Classics and Latin at KS3-4, with the ability to teach at KS5 highly desirable.
  • Deliver engaging and innovative lessons that promote a love of classical subjects.
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of the school's homemade Latin, Classics, and Oracy course.
  • Support students in developing their knowledge and skills in Classical Civilisation and Ancient History.
  • Participate in departmental planning and collaboration with colleagues.
  • Lead and manage extracurricular activities, including the Classics Club and study trips.
  • Promote inclusivity and widen access to classical subjects for students of all backgrounds and abilities.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in teaching Classics and Latin at KS3-4.
  • Experience of teaching in a UK secondary school.
  • Strong communication and classroom management skills.
  • Commitment to promoting inclusivity and widening access to classical subjects.

Preferred

  • Experience of teaching Oracy.
  • Ability to teach Classical Greek.
  • Experience with the Cambridge Latin Course or Eduqas syllabus.
  • Experience in leading extracurricular activities or study trips.
