Key Responsibilities:
- Teach Classics and Latin at KS3-4, with the ability to teach at KS5 highly desirable.
- Deliver engaging and innovative lessons that promote a love of classical subjects.
- Contribute to the development and delivery of the school's homemade Latin, Classics, and Oracy course.
- Support students in developing their knowledge and skills in Classical Civilisation and Ancient History.
- Participate in departmental planning and collaboration with colleagues.
- Lead and manage extracurricular activities, including the Classics Club and study trips.
- Promote inclusivity and widen access to classical subjects for students of all backgrounds and abilities.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with experience in teaching Classics and Latin at KS3-4.
- Experience of teaching in a UK secondary school.
- Strong communication and classroom management skills.
- Commitment to promoting inclusivity and widening access to classical subjects.
Preferred
- Experience of teaching Oracy.
- Ability to teach Classical Greek.
- Experience with the Cambridge Latin Course or Eduqas syllabus.
- Experience in leading extracurricular activities or study trips.
