The Opportunity:

As a Food Technology Teacher, you will inspire students through a dynamic curriculum focused on creativity, nutrition, and healthy living. You will empower pupils with practical skills, fostering a deep understanding of food, culture, and wellbeing in a supportive and values-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging lessons that promote creativity, nutrition, and healthy living.
  • Plan and implement a curriculum that meets the needs of all learners, using effective assessment and differentiation strategies.
  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment that encourages curiosity and independence.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to support student progress and contribute to school-wide initiatives.
  • Monitor student progress through assessment data and adjust teaching strategies accordingly.
  • Promote and safeguard student welfare, ensuring compliance with school policies and protocols.
  • Participate in professional development and contribute to the wider life of the school.
  • Build positive relationships with students, parents, and the wider community.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant or allied subject
  • Experience in teaching Food Technology or a related subject
  • Strong communication skills with students, parents, and colleagues
  • Commitment to safeguarding and student welfare
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Preferred

  • Experience in curriculum design and delivery
  • Familiarity with inclusive education practices
  • Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language (TESOL)
  • Background in promoting healthy lifestyles and nutrition
  • Experience with extracurricular activities or student leadership programs
